Sister Building

“For there is no friend like a sister, in calm or stormy weather, to cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.”
—Christina Rosetti

I started this blog so I could bring together some of the most amazing women in my life, to one place, so I could share them with the world. They are too good to keep to myself. I never had sisters growing up but in my adult life I have been truly blessed with these lovely ladies. I like to call them my Sisters and I hope that you can see them as your sisters too when you come visit us here.

This is a place where we will share our experiences and unique views about our lives as mothers. A place where we will strengthen each other by showing that we are not alone in the struggles and joys that parent hood brings and that there is nothing that we can’t get through if we hold each other up and cheer each other on.

The women that have graciously agreed to come on board are made up of midwives, doulas,a maternal mental health specialist,self-trained herbalist, a lactation consultant, women who live off grid, mothers with large families of six and seven children, mothers who have free birthed, hospital birthed, birthed in the forest and one who birthed in the wilds of Canada. There are mothers who have suffered heartbreaking losses and some who have suffered from debilitating depression. Some are married women and some are single women. There are women who are domestic and sexual abuse survivors who are also here. These women come from all walks of life and they are here to share their journey with you. Make sure to read the posts that were shared before we went live. They are beautiful.

I invite you to come along with us in this sister building exercise. Read our stories and if you feel called to share here and would like to be a guest blogger please feel free to contact us.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy Sister to Sister Birth. Don’t forget to follow us for new blog posts and updates.
